If you enter into a Google search bar the English words "cook time," Google fills in the rest of the search with the word "turkey."
If you enter into Google the equivalent Italian words "tempo cottura," Google fills in the rest of the search with the word "polipo" - octopus. Different strokes... Here in America, we know that ONE DAY our human family will possess the scientific capabilities to make all things biodegradable. On that day, the world will no longer toil under the crushing weight of soft plastic supermarket bags and styrofoam cups. On that day we will stop generating islands the size of Australia out of Gatorade and Tide containers. It's not today, but it will be someday, and that day will be a great day!
In Italy, that day was in 1998, and ever since then disposable soft plastics have had to be made out of biodegradable corn byproducts, as required by EU law. In America, your college may or may not add a rock climbing wall to one of the campus gyms, or a new coffee shop to the "book" store, a new concessions center to the stadium, or updated screens, computers, and classroom technology consoles to the lecture halls.
In Italy, your college may or may not add toilet paper to the bathrooms. America: You can never reach a person to help you solve your problem, which is not on the automated menu.
